I am still attempting re-entry into the mundane after swimming amongst the whales of Dominica with Just the Wild. The encounters were surreal; seeing the whales in their natural habitat, listening to their songs, and looking in their eyes is hard to describe in words. The professional and knowledgeable crew demonstrated both respect for the whales and concern for us humans while orchestrating our encounters. The ocean is a vast and unpredictable place, yet our guide, Aimee, competently coordinated our swims while Captain Pernell and Mate John understood how to put us in position to maximize our interactions without disturbing the whales. The hotel staff were exceptional, the food great, and everything about the trip was outstanding. If you want ethical and meaningful experiences that enrich and support the local community and provide a deep connection to nature, Just the Wild delivers that and more. I am already planning my next adventure! Sharing azure seas. Eyes reflect the world unknown. Swim away with me.

As owner of my own adventure travel company in Baja, Mexico since 1993 I've had some amazing wildlife encounters. So it takes a great deal to WOW me! This experience snorkeling with sperm whales in Dominica was a definite BIG WOW! There really are no words...These are the largest predators on the earth yet so gentle and docile. I never once felt intimidated or afraid but simply the opposite, much like a welcome visitor. This was true from the whales right on through the people that attended to all our needs with professionalism, skill, smiles and warmth! It was a wonderful experience I shall never forget...

There really are no words to describe this trip except perhaps magical. The whales (sperm whales and pilot whales), the birds and Dr Birdie, the hotel hosts, the boat driver and his mate, (Purnell and John) the taxi drivers (Omar and Roy), the scenery, the rainbows, the water color, the water temperature, our guides: it was peaceful, lovely and I wish I were still there. I will never forget having to gently swim out of the way in some cases- and hearing their clicks and clangs in my body and soul- and watching them look at me as with swim underneath...what an experience. Thank you.

Incredible experience. Just The Wild had all the bases covered to make it easy as possible on us coming from the other side of the world. Our guide Aimee was fantastic - knowledgeable, dedicated to improving our experience, but also to protecting our safety and not disturbing the whales or disrupting their lives. Her photography abilities are amazing too! Just the Wild feels like the perfect company to support - they're working with the local Dominican community for everything so the tourism aspect is sustainable, and they're doing the whale viewing the right way to keep it ecologically ethical and sustainable. And the whales... it's an unforgettable experience - both thrilling and serenely awe-inspiring all at once. Can't recommend this trip and Just the Wild highly enough. I'll smile every time I think about it for the rest of my life.

Fantastic!!!!!! The very efficient crew found sperm whales 3 days on the 5 and also many species of dolphins, pilot whales... The hotel was beautiful with possibility to dine on site with a wonderful view on the bay. The room was big with some usefull equipment (fridge, hair dryer...). We shared some funny moments at the surprising carnaval of Portsmouth in January. We loved nature, hearing sperm whales communicating, seeing them so closed, but we also loved people: the other guests and our fabulous and so cute guide Aimee. Everybody was very very kind, took care of each other, always enthusiastic, always smiling and laughing... It was a wonderful experience for all these reasons. Communication by email with Caine in case you need some precisions was very great too, global organization was perfect. If you think about it and if you can afford it, book a trip with just the wild!

I traveled twice this past year with Just the Wild - last January to Dominica to see the sperm whales and this past November to see the big blues in Timor-leste - and it may sound like hyperbole but it was nothing short of life changing! As a child I was torn between my two loves: art and science, specifically marine biology. I chose art in the end and fast forward 30 years to a somewhat disenchanted life as a Creative Director in advertising looking for a change. I stumbled across Just the Wild and after a few years of following Caine's IG and emails, finally decided it was now or never. I'm so so so glad I did! It wasn't just the whales - which we're breathtaking, beautiful, mind-blowing and just so, so, so cool - it's the people you meet. The other guests, the boat captain and first mate, the hotel owners and staff, the dive shop instructors - everyone is just amazing. Travel gives you such an amazing perspective of the world and I can't recommend it enough. Caine has taken care to find the nicest and most knowledgable folks to work with and support. Up till last January I had been snorkeling exactly twice, both times in the shallows. But I'd always dreamed of seeing my favorites: the cetaceans. Between the other guests (special thanks to Wayne and Ellyn) and Caine, I quickly acclimated to open water snorkeling and now I can't wait to get back in the water! And speaking of the dude himself, as a wannabe marine biologist, to have a guide that's not only knowledgable but as excited about the animals we're interacting with is infectious. I have a new found desire to pursue a live that supports swimming in the ocean as much as possible - from getting my scuba certification to exploring the world of underwater photography. And, of course, booking a trip to see the humpbacks in French Polynesia with Just the Wild ASAP!
