One word: Amazing. From booking to farewell, Caine was assisting and making sure the experience was 10/10. There are several boats and outfits that offer humpback experiences, but I doubt their guides or trips are more on it. I was amazed at how Caine and the guides knew exactly where the humpbacks would come up from the depths and give such memorable interactions. I’m already planning a return expedition in 2028. Why such a wait? Because JustTheWild has numerous other expeditions I’m already planning or have booked. That’s how good the trip was, and how confident I am in the other trips they offer. Awesome. Just awesome 10/10.

One of the most amazing weeks of my life. The experience Just the Wild provided was top notch in every way. From airport pick up to living accommodations, meals, and crew it was beyond what I could have expected. I know wildlife encounters can be hit or miss with any excursion, but there wasn’t a single day of disappointment this trip. Every day I thought it could not get any better, and every day it did!

Far from my first (marine-megafauna) rodeo - I’ve swum w/big critters all over the world for almost 30yrs! High end, dry-suit encased excursions to swim with orcas in the Arctic Ocean in January to a local guy and his skiff down off of Rurutu (“Humpies”). Caine and his org.(Just the Wild) are absolutely top notch - unmatched in my (extensive) experience! His knowledge base (PhD marine biology), his expertise in correctly assessing cetacean behavior (“approachability” - essential for a positive outcome), his unshakable dedication to ensuring a respectful encounter, and his perfect blend of rigor and humor.
