Far from my first (marine-megafauna) rodeo - I’ve swum w/big critters all over the world for almost 30yrs! High end, dry-suit encased excursions to swim with orcas in the Arctic Ocean in January to a local guy and his skiff down off of Rurutu (“Humpies”). Caine and his org.(Just the Wild) are absolutely top notch - unmatched in my (extensive) experience! His knowledge base (PhD marine biology), his expertise in correctly assessing cetacean behavior (“approachability” - essential for a positive outcome), his unshakable dedication to ensuring a respectful encounter, and his perfect blend of rigor and humor. Just recently returned from my third trip with Just the Wild, and I can state that I wouldn’t even consider going with any other organization! Wolf Brolley

The trip was beyond anything I imagined- being in the water with all the animals was the thrill of a lifetime. The whole operation was extraordinary- planning another trip already.

This was my fourth trip with Just The Wild, and it did not disappoint. We had the great good fortune of experiencing the marine diversity of Baja, one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Caine and our local guides showed their expertise in wildlife behavior by giving us productive drops in the water with orcas, dolphins, rays and more, all while we watched other operations scare the animals away. Our purpose-built boat gave us many hours on the water, traveling long distances to try to get the best encounters, along with easy entry and exit from the water, key to getting the maximal time with the animals. Accommodations were clean and comfortable with a warm and welcoming staff. 10/10 recommend.

The trip of a lifetime. Memorable and life-changing. Thanks to Caine for taking the time to share your passion over the phone. A big thank you to fantastic Aimee and Captain Pernil for making the experience in the water unforgettable. Thanks to the dozens of whales that allowed me to swim with them so many times, and especially to this juvenile male from Group N that I saw twice (what are the odds in such an immense sea?) and swam with long enough to share a true eye-to-eye moment. Merci. With gratitude.

It was truly a lifechanging experience. From hotel (The Champs), to transportation (Omar), to boat (Parnell) to guide (Aimee), Just the Wild has done an amazing job find the best partners and talent to make a truly Memorable experience. Every day was a new adventure, and the intimate size of the group (3 couples/ 6 people) allowed for a real journey with a tight knit group. Also, the outfits clear respect for the animals, the island, and nature in general was of high value to us. If you have never done a trip like this all I can say is do it, it is worth it. If you have done trips like this but not with Just the Wild, I would say definitely give them a try, they are a good group with good hearts that execute well. Thank you again Aimee and the Just the Wild team!!!

I traveled twice this past year with Just the Wild - last January to Dominica to see the sperm whales and this past November to see the big blues in Timor-leste - and it may sound like hyperbole but it was nothing short of life changing! As a child I was torn between my two loves: art and science, specifically marine biology. I chose art in the end and fast forward 30 years to a somewhat disenchanted life as a Creative Director in advertising looking for a change. I stumbled across Just the Wild and after a few years of following Caine's IG and emails, finally decided it was now or never. I'm so so so glad I did! It wasn't just the whales - which we're breathtaking, beautiful, mind-blowing and just so, so, so cool - it's the people you meet. The other guests, the boat captain and first mate, the hotel owners and staff, the dive shop instructors - everyone is just amazing. Travel gives you such an amazing perspective of the world and I can't recommend it enough. Caine has taken care to find the nicest and most knowledgable folks to work with and support. Up till last January I had been snorkeling exactly twice, both times in the shallows. But I'd always dreamed of seeing my favorites: the cetaceans. Between the other guests (special thanks to Wayne and Ellyn) and Caine, I quickly acclimated to open water snorkeling and now I can't wait to get back in the water! And speaking of the dude himself, as a wannabe marine biologist, to have a guide that's not only knowledgable but as excited about the animals we're interacting with is infectious. I have a new found desire to pursue a live that supports swimming in the ocean as much as possible - from getting my scuba certification to exploring the world of underwater photography. And, of course, booking a trip to see the humpbacks in French Polynesia with Just the Wild ASAP!
